Drivers Window packed up......
Hello all,

In typical fashion, warm weather arrives, drivers electric window packs up!

I've checked the fuse, all ok.

I swapped the switch with the passenger window, all ok.

I've taken the drivers door card off, and can faintly hear the motor 'click' when the button is pressed.

Window is not jammed, what should I try next?

Check and trace wires, especially around the area where the rubber joint goes between the door and body.
They sometimes break / degrade.

That will be the wires in the rubber trunking going from post to door. Very common, pull boot out both ends and inspect the two thick wires, and give them a pull. You may even find window works at certain door open positions.

Mine did this, I just cut out the wires that had gone brittle and spliced in some new, if you do go down this route then make sure you leave a bit of extra cable (just a few inches) more than it was originally, it just helps it not to pull too much when the door is fully open

Did this last weekend. Drivers window would only open/ close with door at certain angle, found white wire in rubber between door and post in two. Spliced new section in and all is well.
Had a similar problem when I bought it with central locking in rear drivers side door not working. Found to be broken wire in rubber tubing.
