Small difference..........big effect
Well I got around to doing my annual gearbox and transferbox fluid change yesterday. I reviewed the recommended fluids for the vehicle for the td5 R380 box and transferbox and questioned why they would change from model to model. In the end I changed the fluids for the 300tdi R380 box and transferbox and am pleased to say that it has made a really nice difference. I would actually say the difference from changing using td5 fluids is significant. The tdi fluids result in a smoother drive, better gearchanges and a much quieter box. The td5 fluids have never quite felt right to me when I use the box, even on previous changes on other vehicles. I am very happy with these now and the overall improvement in drive is significant.

Just thought I would let you know in case anyone here does their own fluids too. I can thoroughly recommend the tdi stuff over the td5. Both fluids conform to the same quality standards so no problems with that either.
