Washers? Loctite blue? TD5 axles / R380 / T-Box
For the final part of my 90's service I'm changing the oils throughout.

1) Do any of the axles have copper washers like the sump that need renewing?

2) Do the R380 or Tbox?

3) Just used some loctite blue on the Femco drainplug I installed on the engine sump. Is it worth adding a bit of loctite to any the above?

1) no, the drains are tapered and torqued up.
2) the R380 has a copper washer, transfer box is tapered and torqued up.

I've never used Loctite, some hylomar blue sealant is recommended but there's no real need IMO.

(EDIT: Corrected name of sealant.)

Some R380 boxes also have a talered torx plug too.

Cheers, got a Torx T55 bit for the R380.

Just wondering if any of the axles are different etc. I'll get cracking then Smile Ta. "Big green" 2000 Td5 90 IRB Developments modified (2004-2011)

The engine does have a sealing washer, this should be replaced.

Already serviced the engine with a new washer with a magnetised Femco drain plug.

It's only the axles and other boxes I'm doing next Thumbs Up "Big green" 2000 Td5 90 IRB Developments modified (2004-2011)
