Occassional "chuff" through the air intake
With summer here at last I have the window down and have noticed when pulling away in 2 or 3 particularly I occasionally get a chuff sound through the air intake, almost like a cough....I noticed it on new 110 I had loan of also...
Can anyone enlighten me as to what this is....
Oh I have 2014 90 by the way...

Thanks

Dave

Mine did this... It's a sticking or damaged EGR Valve... I had mine replaced and it's been perfect ever since..

I and discussing something which I thought might be waste gate but was told you don't have a waste gate on variable vane turbos so it won't be that.

Good chance it will be to do with egr as it opens/closes it would via the amount of air through the air intake

Correction
I meant changing up, it mainly occurs through 2/3 however did my best to get it re occur yesterday to no avail......would any issues with an occasional sticking EGR log a fault code....
With this in mind when my dealer recently performed the Defenders first service would they automatically, as part of their routine, check for any logged faults, my assumption is that they would....
Grateful for any advice.....
Trucks are becoming too complicated so much that can go wrong....mind I come from an era where you could do anything on a vehicle now I lift the bonnet check the levels and rapidly close it...

When mine did it... There was no fault code... I just got the valve actuation checked at the dealer and they said it wasn't following the aim.. so they replaced it and all has been fine since..
