Was about to write the same, but was hooked into Henry Cecil on the telly.

Look at the puppy, pick the one you are drawn to up let him or her lick you, if your heart misses a beat, and the puppy’s eyes meet yours, and you know that look, then that is the one.

That's how I chose my current one, Rosie, or should I say she chose me, she was the only one from the whole litter who rushed up to me, eyes full of love and curiosity and made her mark on my heart and I've never looked back. Awwwwhhhh.
