Not a fisherman but what about puitting them in a length of plastic drainpipe and securing them somewhere ?

I changed over to multi piece travel rods ( sea fishing ) , but guessing you wont want to change your rods
6 people + fishing gear , your be packed in like sardines |

I bought myself all 3 piece rods to make them easily fit into the back of my 90
