I have always found Allisport to be one of the best made intercoolers on the market and they have always provided excellent customer service.

Shame that I haven't found that. Intercooler corroded out within 8000 miles and he didn't want to know. Never again

Im sure Andrew at AlliSport would be interested to hear about any issues with his products as he strives to make the best product possible.
If you have not contacted him directly and I would suggest doing so as he will stand by his product and change any intercooler thes is deemed to be a factory fault or corroded from bad materials. I have been selling Allisport intercoolers since 2004 and have not yet found or had one that is rotted out. Kind regards Pete |

I did speak to him at the time Pete, and he didn't seem interested. I would have taken it to trading standards but was going through hell in my life at the time and just didn't have the time or mental capacity to do so. So just threw it in my shed (its still there) and vowed never to buy anything else from allisport.

I am sure most people will understand that if you make enough of something then you are bound to have a small percentage of problems, it is how you deal with them that is the measure of a business in my opinion. If we are not given the opportunity to deal with an issue,it is hard to help. I have not been made aware of any corrosion issues, as we ensure we use only the highest grade aluminium for all our products. Salt corrosion or harsh chemical cleaners can have an adverse affect on any material, not forgetting of course a glitch in raw material supply, but I would welcome any constructive criticism.
I am actually very proud of our recently redesigned TD5/Tdci intercoolers which have undergone extensive testing. Our one piece tank design and new highly efficient core is the strongest yet withstanding testing to over 130psi and is the most efficient on the market and British Built. Finally I would like to point out that the pictures above are from a design of intercooler we have not made for some time, my estimate being at least 6 years. I have put everything into this business and take it comments personally about not taking problems seriously. It is after all the products that sell themselves. |

I totally agree Andy, but when I spoke to you about it you basically fobbed me off. It was never cleaned with any sort if chemical. I have never had issues with any other cores with salt and this was treated no differently. The serck core that replaced it has done over 50k miles in the same hole without any issues.

I stand by the product and would warranty it even now but we had to explore the possibilities of why it had corroded. We would not be in business if I had multiple problems and fobbed everyone off. Maybe your unfortunate circumstance at the time meant you had more important issues than to allow us both to follow up the problem. As always - get in touch; happy to discuss.

Thank you Andy. I can send it to you if you'd like for examination and see if you come to the same conclusions our NDT department did ?
