Drill a small hole at the bottom in each supporting tube on the steering guard and spray some wax inside as the tubes fill up with water over time

Great suggestion Munch. Thanks. Hadn't thought of that. I did blather loads of black Dinitrol around and into the flattened ends of the tubes where the guard mounts onto the chassis in an attempt to seal up the ends of the tubes, but holes would be a better option. A quick job one evening this week if the weather is fine.

Thanks Shaggydog.
The OE Brunel coloured grill and headlight surrounds just didn't look right to me with the rest of the vehicle in black. So I went for a more traditional look with the Nakatanenga grill and a cheap set of surrounds spray painted in matte black. The weathered badge kind of felt right and finished it off. I'm not a big fan of blinged up Defenders so the grille is as far as I will go. Apart from possibly a set of Sawtooths, or black Boosts to complete the all black look. |
