My fault I suppose but I opted for a cheap internet fitting service from these guys. Nevertheless the product appeared sound with a good warranty? They appeared professional, were bang on with appointment time and seemed ok.
http://www.trackerfit.co.uk/brands/cobratr...ccess.html Note what is says on the bottom of the list....... 3 Year Warranty What they don't add is when you have problems with your tracker fitted by them less than 12 months previously they absolve themselves of ALL responsibility and pass you off to the manufacturer. The manufacturer then when contacted states for the first two years after fitting it is the fitting company who are responsible. Sorted now thankfully down to Cobra/Vodafone themselves. The company also come under a different guise ' CATA.' Different name, same address and phone number. My advice for what it may be worth if you are considering a tracker fit......Pay a little extra and go with Cobra or the makers of whatever system you opt for directly. They themselves are already aware of the Customer Service standards of the aforementioned companies. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Service is only as good as the response you get when you really need it! 'Eye opener' for me and extremely frustrating being batted from one to the other. Cobra/Vodafone came up trumps! Maybe phone the Cobra Customer number on the card with the tracker and see what they themselves can do?
Good luck Catherine. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Tried ringing Trackerfit but all I got was a voicemail saying to leave a message and they would get back. Did this twice and then sent an email, still no response. All I wanted was for them to recommend a tracker. If they weren't bothered about a sale what would be there response if I bought and then had a problem. I rang a local company who were exceedingly helpful with lots of advice and recommendations. They were only £20 more expensive than Trackerfit - money well spent. If you live in Yorkshire and are looking at a tracker system then try Safe and Sound, based in Leeds and talk to Mark.

OK going slightly OT, if you want trackers fitted in Yorkshire consider Audio Images in Bradford www.audioimages.co.uk
Yes we have used them for fitting tracking devices and radios etc. They also know how to upgrade certain aspects of Defender security Brendan |

Poor experience with Trackerfit as well, and that's only trying to buy a tracker - enquired couple times over the phone, everytime a specialists sales rep was not available and was told to send an email. Sent emails and no response. Very attractive prices but trying to find someone local to advise on Tracker/Cobra brands and fit one for me. As mentioned earlier, if their sales support is so poor, I wouldn't want to deal with after-sales team!

In mitigation the sales and fitting service for me where 'top notch.' The aftersales was a complete fob off! Pay extra, go with the manufacturer if possible of a reputable brand.
Trackerfit are to be avoided, especially as they do not honour or are prepared to even acknowledge they have a two year liability of a three year warranty. Hi K9F,
We see that you have had issues regarding a service call for a faulty Cobra unit. We weren't aware of your frustration until we saw your review last week. After investigation with the manufacturer and your review it appears that when you called our office and our receptionist referred you to Cobra by mistake. It is indeed our responsibility to provide service where necessary and want to apologise for your trouble in getting the service call from ourselves. The receptionist was informed to only refer customers direct to the manufacturer if the issue is software related or with regards to an ongoing subscription. We would like to offer a gesture of goodwill, please call ourselves and ask for myself on: 0800-756-5100. Kind regards, Robert Quail Trackerfit LTD |

Right, Mal switched to Harley Davidson toys.
And to keep in the spirit of a currently actively posted thread on here about reasons why to own a Defender, I think "the real reason why he now owns a Harley" may be found in below picture. Don't know why, but I can have some appreciation for Mal's decision. Eric Click image to enlarge You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |
