Key fob range?

Hi guys,

Just wondering how far your key fobs work from? Mine only works from about 2 metres away and I think this is rather poor. My defender is the last if the 2.4's. I was in a car park last week admiring a 2014 90 when the lights flashed and looking around I noticed the owner was nearly 15 metres away, did they upgrade on the 2.2's or is mine just a bit crap?

Thanks, did a search but couldn't see anything, obviously didn't search far enough
