Bows, I bought a bell tent last year, not a tipi but very similar in practice to a modern tipi.
Click image to enlarge Spread it out, peg down 12-14 points in the groundsheet, in with the central pole, in with the a frame over the front door, go round and peg out 12-14 guy ropes. Takes me 10-15 mins to put up and once the pole is up, my better half is in there glamping things up. Yes, those are solar lights at the end of each guy rope! Always a talking point on campsites as not very often there's another one there at the same time. Loads of space inside, you can get clip in bedrooms to offer a bit of separation, or leave it open plan for a weekend away with 10-12 mates. Downside is the weight. 30+kg once all packed. Plus having the space once home to spread it out to dry if went away wet. All in all I think it's pretty awesome  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Looked at them this year at the NEC show, quality and room was good and for a reasonable price. It is a poly cotton tent so will be cool in hot climates and warmer in colder ones.
We have a Robens tent, not Tipi, and can't fault is so far, so don't think you will go far wrong with the make anyway. |
