Small cheap exterior mods for Xmas?
Hey,

My wife want to know what I want for Xmas and it's a good chance to get some small cheap bits to "beef up" the look of my defender.

This is how it currently stands:

And I saw this pic on here the other day, this is what I want to aim towards, looks awesome.

I know the big mods are winch bumper, roof rack etc which cost £££, but are there any little subtle things I can get/do to work towards this?

Thinking some light protectors/covers, LED front indicators, stuff like that.

I'd say up to about £150 in total?

Thanks

You could start with LED upgrade, I bought a complete RDX set (front and rear indicators, tail/brake light and side lights, adjustable indicator relay included). Very happy with it. Cheers, Vincent

Already have full LED lights on the rear, but could get the fronts to match

Flatdog are selling the LED headlights I bought for £50 less, at £249. They look awesome fitted as they have black innards.

Couple that with a KBX black grille and you're well on your way.

Small and not expensive?

How about a Defendoor, keeps most of the muck away from the filler cap.

To be fair your utility looks damned good already, but I would certainly consider swapping the silver chequer plate for black, alters the look considerably. Here's my 90 before and after swapping to black.

Love the look of the black chequer plate, good idea.

My car is an ex Mud-stuff demo car so has pretty much everything mud-stuff sell in it already including that netting

I'm gonna be different and prefer it as it is.
It's harder wearing in bare form and less likely to be damaged as designed for protection.
I personally wouldn't want to keep taking it off and painting or even worse powder coat it.

Each to their own though and depend on usage, who you are and what you like to do with it.
If it's treated as a car and general hack it'll be fine but if it does everything including work it's start getting tatty.

Maybe worth considering bonnet security / spare wheel security too? Bonnet badge change maybe unless you have already?
Rear 3 D badges?

Sorry motoberg, I've only had it a few months and they were already installed so I have no idea!

Custom 90, thanks for the kind words, I already love it, especially the rear end, just feel the front end needs something.

Thinking black checker plate and grille will be a great start 👍
