2003 TD5 90 Central locking alarm key fob not working?

So my 2003 TD5 90 has the Rover key fob and the spare, however they don't work...... Tried changing the battery and still not working? Any advice would be appreciated!

Check the fuse, when I got mine the fob didn't work so I went over everything (including checking the fuse) but the fuse looked ok. I couldn't find the fault for ages and was about to replace the alarm unit but had one last check over and you could just tell the fuse was gone on really close inspection
