white smoke up start up
HI need a bit of help quickly,

a week ago defender 90 td5 broke down due to sudden misfire situation. Suspected injector harness so changed to an old spare and it fire up. Then purchased new genuine harness to be sure and would not start.

So issue was not with harness but something else?

while engine was running I moved harness near the multiconnector to harness and it began to misfire. Found bad connection in multiconnector. I had an old engine loom so cut off the multi connector and carefully soldered to replace faulty one. All now fine but since doing this I have white smoke on start up. This goes when engine warms up?

I have checked red plug for oil and it is clean,

I am not losing coolant,

Oil level on dipstick is not moving,

fuel pump runs fine and cuts out after 30-40 sec.

connection to glow plugs are secure.

Any body any ideas why im getting white smoke???

I have never had this before????

Off to Pyrenees in a week and wany to get sorted before I go,

thanks in advance for any body who has had this and could suggest a reason Thumbs Up

May well be glowplug failure.

Thanks Laurie Thumbs Up

I suppose it's a cheap item to change to see if it is the cause,

I'll get a new set of glow plugs fitted and feed back on outcome Thumbs Up
