My thoughts:

1. Are they "type approved" by the Dept. for Transport? (I don't think so)
2. If they were really useful and legal they'd be an option on cars like the Merc S Class etc. Their absence tells me they aren't.
3. If not fitted with a leveler I imagine that bumps in the road or crests etc. would cause them to possibly shine into the eyes of the driver behind with the potential at least to dazzle, which may well constitute an offence under the Road Traffic Act 1988.

At £5:78 it is a veritable billy bargain too. But without approvals it's a bit of non-starter. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Humm.

I see also alternatives uses for this laser.
Anyway I'm not sure if it is legal to put it in a car also here.

Cheers Eduardo

God I hope not. What a pile of poo. Bearing in mind that the vast majority of drivers have no clue re the law (and just being inconsiderate) and how to use the lights they already have on a car.

Realistically, legal use of front & rear fogs would mean they would have around 5 mins per annum of legal/considerate usage.

It's another gadget for lots of drivers to fail to understand how and when to use them.

There have been a few studies, and there's NO proof that front & rear fogs reduce accidents. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

MartinK, Spot on! A man after my own heart! Thumbs Up

A major contribution could be made to road safety if fog lights (especially rears) were banned altogether from all vehicles.

The concept of correct useage of fog lights is clearly way beyond the comprehension of the average moderm driver.

Those anti fog collision lights are laser lights emitting the light from a laser.

When companies such as Audi announced the development of their new laser based headlights which uses lasers as a generator for the lights but do not emit a laser light there was concern about blinding on coming drivers etc from the laser.

This was unfounded concern as no laser light was being emitted by the headlights.

Can you imagine the fear/concern about laser lights on the rear of vehicles. That is before the complete idiots get hold of them
