Skelmersdale
Thieves stole a Landrover Defender parked outside the victims place of work on Gorsey Place on May 6 at 7:30pm. The thieves found a tracking device in the car and disabled it. The tag was last active in Leigh and the victim made his way there after reporting the theft to the police. The victim believed he saw his trailer that was connected to the Landrover near to a travellers site. While at the site the victim was approached by a man holding what is believed to be a gun and threatened.

In the same article:

"Unknown criminals approached a locked avondale touring caravan parked on High Street opposite a pub, between March 11 and March 25. They removed the front door by unknown means and made off with it undetected."

Is that what they wanted to steal or just a mindless act, or maybe coming back later for the contents? Confused

Poorly written article in the link above wrote:

Does that mean they made off with the door, or they made off with the caravan?

While I am at it (picking holes in someone's communication skills), what does "the front door" mean, the entrance door or the front locker lid? How many High Streets are there in Skelmersdale (the article tells us that there's one opposite a pub, but are there also others)? Finally I bet the criminals are not "unknown", merely unidentified.

(Why can no-body write properly these days?)

I read it as meaning they stole the door, hence why I posted it up.

Is there the same market in caravan door upgrades as Defender? Rolling Eyes

I think that you're probably right, but it is a very odd thing to steal!

A few seconds with Mr Google suggests a thriving black market in stolen caravans, but doors don't seem to be an issue unless the caravan is still attached.

Clearly the work of "unknown" villains of questionable sanity, or villains who have a similar caravan.

Brilliant, what a waste of time and money if it;s that easy, ok there are not many places to hide one in a defender but it shouldnt be that simple Rolling Eyes Andy

Was the tracker traced using a device to find the tracker or was it not very well hidden? 1999 Defender TD5 110
