Do not think that I let myself be influenced by others' opinion, (that is to say about stickers, but otherwise I have an open mind when), but I have removed the following stickers: A) lrforum.com skylight on the left, because I no longer active on the Norwegian forum. B)wwwfl2italia.org/forum/ on the right rear window, because I no longer have a Freelander2.

I have created an opening for wire/cable (CB antenna and portable projector), to avoid getting them caught in the doorway. It was my previous solution, but not satisfactory.

Why not run cables a different way...like into the rear of the speakers etc? Mike |

If my Defender is stolen, it is now very easy to recognize if you get behind on the road. Puma 90 MY 2010 (sold 2017) Defender 110 MY 2001 http://www.youtube.com/bjartin |

I know I shouldn't but... I think the OP might be planning to use this properly but whilst it's all brand new and super shiny is does look a bit ATGNI! Reminds me of portly MTBers that arrive at a group ride on the latest £5k super rig but can't climb a gentle hill without wheezing. My one question - how much do all these extras weigh? Must be a LOT!!! Would be interesting to see how if fared against a base spec 90 on the "right" tyres - on even a series one. In fact even oir old Jimny would be an interesting tester - that little thing went almost anywhere on road biased tyres and no mods. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

bjartin - a lot of very interesting ideas on how you have developed and adapted the Defender for your needs. Thanks for sharing. Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

I have weighed the car today. It was with full fuel tank and with my overland equipment 2350 kg. Furthermore, there will be 40 liters of diesel in jerry cans, 30 liters of water in water tank and 30 liters of bottled water, personal luggage of about 20 kg and me 90 kg. Maximum allowed total weight, according to V5, 2550kg so I have to remove 10 kg bottle of water. No problem, it is drinking water in water tank. My Jerry Can of 20 liters will only be filled when I go into the desert.
I'll also try to lose weight myself. Puma 90 MY 2010 (sold 2017) Defender 110 MY 2001 http://www.youtube.com/bjartin |

Its not just about the weight in the v5 - its the weight when you off road and using it Mike

Why do you need 40 litres of diesel and 60 litres of water? Where are you going?
How much does your "overland equipment" weigh? and as above, where are you going and with how many? |
