It's not my first . I had a very special SAS lightweight few yrs back and stupidly sold it my kids cried for ages . , a chap came from Geemany and drove it back no problem . So this time I'm keepin for good . I haven't even seen it but I'm assured its in tip top condition ???? Where have we all heard that before , when it comes to buying landrovers . |

Excellent, reminds me of the one I had back in the early '80's. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

That's lovely Keith.
Always had an itching to get a series truck of my own and the couple that have cropped up on here recently aren't helping. Not that I'd get permission. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Update ...
Ok I understand this is the Defender forum and I'm certainly not going to hijack it by Lightweight excitement but were all fans of everything LR . I left Glasgow at 3:30 and 3 trains later the other side of Manchester and 2130 . I hoped for day light but pitch black . Handed the cash over and got the keys to ' Berty ' No time for checks so I fired him up and waved goodby to floods of tears from the family . 1st problem , NO HEADLIGHTS . 2nd problem , stuck in 4wd . Headed for the M6 North and stopped for a tankful of juice and sorted both problems out under the lights of the forecourt . 10 min onto the M6 And WHOOSH... the canvas blew right off the windscreen and over the hoops . It was blowing a storm , pouring with rain and by the time I got to Carlyle it was a full on snow storm with the gritters out . The canvas had been put on by the family 12 yr old and was INSIDEOUT and not tied to anything . I couldn't fix it proper with trucks thundering past me , so quickly pulled it over and hoped for the best . Thermal socks on , winter hat , gloves and a coat fit for Siberia I made it home soaked to the skin . I got home at 0400 but ' Berty ' never missed a heartbeat . A typical journey in an old Landrover and I loved it . Pics and restoration coming soon Keith |
