So I got a bit jetwash happy and through a combination of too much heat and too much pressure I've managed to peel some of the paint from my wheel arches (painted white by previous owner). A combination of this and a close call with a HGV while I was in a queue on the motorway means that they are probably due a bit of rejuvenation.
Question is do I repaint them white, replace them for the standard grey plastic items or paint them in Java black? I've added a picture so everyone can make my mind up for me. Click image to enlarge Tom @tditomprice 100” Defender Hybrid 2010 Alaska White 90 HT |

Hello TDi Guy
Carbon Fibre... Well...Vinyl, much better than I thought, flexes with the wheel arch and shows no signs of damage when picking my way through the hedgerows round here, it's scratch / marking resistance is also good, have not taken a power washer to the edge of it, but lettering else where has shown no negative signs, would certainly recommend it as an option. I have subsequently added Pacer Wheel Arch Extensions to be more 'comfortable' with the law regarding 'Tyre Projection', they will also help the life expectancy of the Vinyl... It will be personal choice, a contrast will work, but personally I like the whole vehicle to be one colour. (selective bits like this was as far as I would go), have always liked either the Black, White or Grey Defenders. If you paint the wheel arches you need the right paint, a good supplier or body shop will know. Good Luck... Click image to enlarge SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

I would have thought some sort of 'wrap' would be a good option as above too.
Black would be my choice! Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Sent off for a quote by a local company for roof, wheel arches and mirror backs to be wrapped in gloss black. Hopefully I can get a decent price for the work. Tom
