Well, let me add a comment too in this biased discussion. I know someone personally who had problems with water ingress/fogging up into his carefully installed Nolden. What a surprise, the respective higher IP numbers are no firm guarantee apparently.

Do we really want to go down this "My lights are better than yours? and "I can pee further than you scenario?" I've now got rid and moved on....suggest we agree to disagree and give it a rest......and maybe we can all move on together.... Give over FFS.......Ultimately because I wasted £1000 on a crap product and I was disappionted and let down. Look at the Best and Worse modification thread for a little more enlightening information. I was not the only one.
Tim helped me obtain a replacement glass lens which broke due to stone impact. Tim did not directly supply me my JWS. Rustyboxx has now bought them if 'anyone with a conscience' wishes to honour what was brokered in a pm sent to me last October. As stated I am now finished with JWS and should my recent purchase also let me down I will let you know so you can scoff at my misfortune. Again please let's move on. I apologise if my bad taste reference offended your preferred brand, I have removed it, all that remains is your quote. Agree.....
A 'superior experience' with a product does not make you more knowledgeable, it makes you more loyal to the brand which is understandable. Wherever possible I had backed up my experiences with links to similar shared experiences and references. Comments such as 'I have heard' or 'I know someone personally'' how much 'worth' do these statements actually carry? I don't care about effective lumens, measured output or anything else but water ingress. I have spent upwards of £1500 on two sets of headllights the first of which let me down badly after quite a bit of time. The fact that that brand has evolved, should the historical experiences of others be brushed away or berated? I have apologised more than once and removed my bad taste joke/reference. All I am after is a set of headlights that give me an improved output over standard are fit for purpose, keep the moisture out and don't start rotting. I am truly envious of those that have purchased lights that afforded them these expected standards first time round. I have yet to experience this. I am not ashamed to admit that in the event of having them swapped out under warranty I too would probably after due reflection have sold the replacements on immediately as others have done due to loss of faith in that brand. I have now cut my losses. Ken your comment about the Trucklite lens was informative, careful cleaning is perhaps the key there and may prevent someone from damaging their lens.
Undoubtedly but not from this quarter......Sincerely hoping mine won't let me down this time. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |
