Think you may struggle with the 2.2 due to the cat/DPF.

Yes I think the DPF would prevent getting such a sound

My god that sounds amazing. I can't imagine a 2.2 sounding like that but if I could get anything close to that I would be happy.

Ya'll NEVER get a REALLy good sound with that engine. If ya want some top "NOISE", then ya'll just have to drop a V8 in it,...with some good pipes? Joking of course, From the land of V8s, Pickles. |

We have complete Cat/DPF removal pipes in stock for the 2.2, as well as the above exhaust as shown by LikeOMG.
This would require a second ECU (which we also have on stock) or a tool for changing the ECU calibration, for when you take it for its MOT in future. Removal of emission control systems is naughty, but its the only way you'll get it to sound like the one in the video. Kind Regards, Gary. |

Puma1234.
Our new tool which is ready very shortly will allow you to switch between the remap you have now which is dedicated for your DPF fitted car, and also a non DPF car map with the addition of a second map file I can add for you based arround your current BAS tune. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic36280.html You already have the spare ecu unlocked that has your current remap/tune applied on it so another one will not be needed in this instance. I do agree with Gary though removing the DPF will be considered very naughty for sure by your dealer, and without a doubt will void your warranty. Its also a lot lot harder to put the original DPF front pipe back on compared to other simpler modifications as it involves lifting the engine slightly to get the DPF out. Really your next performance move should be a performance intercooler... Many are available on the market but we prefer stock the Allisport intercooler. https://secure.bellautoservices.co.uk/stor...tercooler/ Kind regards Pete Last edited by bell-auto-services on 20th Apr 2015 9:32pm. Here is a snippet of a non DPF Puma 2.2 we helped do with our prototype pipe for a rally car.
Its a little loud here as its in an enclosed area. Again,, a warranty killer mod so think carefully. Thiis one is a little better though still not a fantastic video to show exhaust sound. Pete |

Don't think I'm going to go as far as removing the dpf. I might remove the silencer though just for a little more growl. The remap has made it sound deeper which is good 😁😁

Are those some vents I see in your wheel arch (brake cooling etc) or some damage? Sounds fab.... Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Hi Gary, just to be clear is this naughty from a warranty point of view (mine has expired) or an MOT point of view as well? If not the MOT and if no undue effect on the engine, I guess it must improve airflow (hot gases extraction) and therefore to some degree the HP? Similar to blanking the EGR? Ta Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |
