I had to have a chuckle , got the questioning look from S.H.M.B.O. , when the woman said" they should stick to the roads"

That's what they are doing sticking to the old roads.

That woman is another one that wants to keep National Parks as a museum and not a modern day working environment.

A friend who lives within the North York's national park asked
"my house is cold and draughty I want to change to double glazed windows and draught proof the doors can I have permission to change them?" The answer was a stern no from the same type of woman who visited him as she wanted the park to remain as it was years ago, best ting she did not live in the park area. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

I recall not too long ago, they used a Sea king Helicopter for a week, to fly hardcore & flag stones onto the 3 peaks in the Yorkshire dales to repair the footpaths due to damage caused by walkers
imagine the cost involved in that... and its still an ongoing problem, repairing footpaths due to overuse.

maybe there should be a number of people using limit, on popular foot paths
(they do it on popular lanes)
it would save the National Parks a fortune. and give the ramblers something other than us to moan about.
