Helicopter rescue at Wallace Monument
15 March 2015 Last updated at 17:50 GMT
A teenager has been airlifted by helicopter from the top of the Wallace Monument near Stirling after dislocating his knee.
It is understood he was just four steps from the top when the injury occurred.
However, he was unable to get back down the stairs due to restricted access.
A rescue helicopter flew from RAF Lossiemouth to assist paramedics at the scene. The 17-year-old was winched to safety at about 15:09 on Sunday.
(Video footage taken by Les Calderwood)

So what was your role Mike, not videoing obviously if names are correct Razz

Now are you the one saying take a left at the third pylon, the one who just hovers about or the mad idiot putting his life on the end of a bit of cable?

Yes team effort I know.

Well done Thumbs Up

Always good to know that SAR are around. Lots of experience, practise skill and guts Bow down

"However, he was unable to get back down the stairs due to restricted access."

That suggests the helicopter took him off the top of the monument, but the video shows differently?

Hats off to you Mike.

Have never dangled on a cable below a helicopter, have dangled off a bit of string, over big drops before more then once so realise a bit on how much you are reliant not just on the kit but also on your colleagues.

Yes you do have to be a bit mad to do that work.

Keep up the good work Thumbs Up
