Like you say start off with the connectors on the indicators first, we all know how bad the muck builds up around the plugs!
Worth having a look at the general state of things inside the light unit too. Are you using standard lamps, or LED? 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

LED.
I did get so far as to get the light out and look an dither plug. Was mucky and damp but couldn't really see the condition of the pins due to the dark. Will try and use some temp jumper leads on crocs and see what happens as its only a tiny load on an LED light. I'll certainly know if it's the connection then. Failing that I've got a Multimeter to check for power and earth continuity etc. I'm hoping the terminals need a little cleaning off and that should be it. |

Most likely localised as you surmise. Good electrical cleaner and a liberal spraying and fettling with a fitch brush with the lamp off. If you've a multimeter check both supply and earth before reassembly, that'll help you from going round in circles. You know what you're doing Steve.
Good luck. Sure you're all over it. Or will be tomorrow. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Swop the NS for OS indicator.
If problem stays on the same side then issue would be with wiring. If fault switches to other side then a faulty indicator. Brendan |

Well had a poke about today.
First trick I tried was to have the engine running for the approx 14.2v and not 12.2v. It was working fine. This told me that it was poor connection at the pins as the extra voltage boost made the difference. Cleaned the pins with some very fine sandpaper and put a little silicone grease on the wire rubbers to keep moisture away. It seems to be fine as is for now touch wood. The reading for the Earth contiunity was a little high though which I find rather strange. These sort of things have tended to happen since clutch replacement when the rear earth strap would have been disconnected. When the weather is dry I'm inclined to get under there unbolt it on the transfer box earth strap and clean it up and that should help. Never had any lighting issues before then so that is my guess. Anyhow at least it's working as expected. |
