Probably best to stick with the Parrot at this moment in time.
CD drive or not, I'd recommend some Kenwood units but the prices are getting redo cultus these days. |

What are members thoughts on the double din Android systems available on eBay etc for around £300? It handles bluetooth for phone calls and playlists on your phone and it would be handy as my wife and I both use a sat nav program called Sygic which is Android based. It would eliminate the need for a seperate hands free (with microphone connected) sat nav stereo unit. Coupled up with a nice amp and some decent speakers and you have it all in one with a decent sized screen to watch some tv shows/movies when parked up.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. |

Known or unknown brands?
If unknown brands then it's pot luck and no one can recomend really as they've never owned the same unit. They cannot all be bad though... I'd be inclined to always stick with known brands but the price tag is hefty to say the least. |

Yeah that's what I was thinking. You can pick up the unknown brands for around £300 but the big name items are astronomical money.

Which ever option you go for chances are it'll be out of date in a few years anyway.
So something that is largely future proof would be useful. |

I went double din and fitted a alpine ( always had kenwood stuff before ) only fitted the alpine because that was what was avaible from place I got dash from
alpine lasted about 6 months with very little use , then sat nav packed up on it ( think it got spiked when starting defender with slightly low battery ) now got kenwood , yes more expensive and now fitted delay relay and extra battery to stop any spikes extra ( on another post about dropping out when starting ) I only went double din just too get rid of different unit like sat nav , Bluetooth , stereo so looks less cluttered inside on dash |

Have 2 Din facia on order.
Was looking at the Pioneer F960, but now wondering whether to wait for the new Parrot. Will do what the Pioneer does, incl Carplay, Reverse Cam, Navigation and Radio, but also with OBDII connection. However, if the start up time is the same as existing Parrot, then that just about rules me out, as I want reversing camera, and would do 90% of my reversing while the Parrot is still starting up! |
