Camel Trophy- dodgy vin?
Hi guys,

If its a genuine vehicle looks to be a good opportunity to restore a camel trophy 110.....but its vin looks a bit, ground off and new one applied badly?

Description says it started out as a blue station wagon and you can see blue inside. Doubt it's an original Camel.....but I know nothing. Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!

That VIN looks uneven to me.(my TD5 is made up of dots forming the letters, are the early ones the same?) I thought the Camel Trophies had more stuff on the bonnet, i.e shovels, etc and also had a winch ? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Categorically not a Camel vehicle, but the advertiser doesn't actually claim it to be one.

I don't think the VIN has been ground, but it is sloppily stamped. Entirely consistent with LR build quality! I don't know enough about vehicles of that age to know if the dot stamping had started then.

It looks to me just like a tired and tatty old station wagon!

They aren't "dot stamped" at that age - apart from the upside down 3's it looks "right".  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Agree with blackwolf. Its not been ground. Just a flapwheel or something used to clean area around number so you can see it. Not a camel but i think its honest.
