Having 'mislaid' my trusty but ancient MultiMeter and realising sooner or later I will need one for Mamba...
I have just ordered one of these, simply for two reasons; 1. It was inexpensive and; 2. It is Green... Click image to enlarge What is everyone else's Multimeter weapon of choice... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

I too have an AVO 8 in the bakelite case with an external rigid 'leatherette' box with a lid that folds under itself. It was what I was trained on and is not susceptiple to voltage fluctuations like most digital ones and apart from the bulkiness is one I still prefer to use today. Nevertheless I have a Fluke Multimeter and Fluke Insulation Tester that are both very good and get an overhaul and calibration by an instrument company every 12 months.
It really depends on how deep your pockets are and useage. I also have a small blue multimeter (Draper I think) that got me change out of £5 a few years ago from Halfords. That too will diagnose faults quite as effective as the Fluke. Click image to enlarge If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
