Which is the quickest
Just been thinking it would be nice to see a real life test between all the tuning company's like
Bowler
Twisted
Alive
Je engineering
BAS
And so on just to see who makes the quickest tune for the current engine

Anyone know of any videos or tests ?

I guess it depends on which version of each company's tune/remap you test. For example the Stage 1 Bowler is 175hp whereas the basic BAS (City Tune) is 150hp. Then you have to discuss use of turbos, coolers and I suppose use.

Given Bowler's race pedigree whereas many of the others are mainly (albeit not exclusively) 'street' then arguably Bowler would get most out of your 2.2 than the others. This is if you factor in sussies, handling etc as well. Give it to Twisted and go petrol and obviously you get 450hp straight line speed. Evil or Very Mad

Money no object, I would personally go Bowler..... Bow down

Maybe a test for Clarkson's return to Top Gear (on Sky.....? Big Cry ) Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

There was talk a few years back with one of the monthly's to do a feature on it. But they had trouble finding a suitable time and place to do it. We at IRB had a rolling road day few years back too, some folk brought their tuned LR products from other companies to have a go...was a good day out, LRM did a article on it.. Putting Dreams on Drives at JLR Solihull..

There are so many parameters that means it would be very hard to test it in a fair way! Different wheel sizes and style of tyres, suspension - 2.2 vs 2.4 etc. Would be interesting to do a fun competition at a track with as many different Defenders as possible like at bruntingthorpe back in 2009 - some videos on youtube. Maybe a Defender 2 track day with a competition for those who want it??

I'm guessing with these sort of numbers it's going to be one of the quickest although not mentioned above?

IRB550 - 550Nm and 204BHP

We could arrange a Defender2 Go Karting day to get this 'which one is quickest' out of our systems. At least the field would be on a more level playing ground. I'd want a few more BHP in my kart to counteract the extra bulk it would have to carry.

Not exactly tuned but surely the 605bhp Nene Overland Icon is probably the quickest Rolling with laughter 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)
Looking for another to replace it.

The road less travelled.... is a muddy one!
