Thanks Dave for confiming that part of my analysis.

Martin, I support the "publish exploits so we can find a solution" party.
I didn't post diagrams and details because of possible copyright, but more important because in this case I would not explain what the problem was (which we all should know about) but how LR's solution to it worked. This then might help the scum to find a new way around it. The part Dave posted is just one change that LR did to the alarm system. And I see no harm in posting that part. Also because it's the one directly related to the LTB in question.

The recent rise in thefts that have included cutting the power to the main fuse box is evidence that LR did indeed change the alarm wiring around 2012.
It also proves they have found a way round it, and the TSB. LTB000386.

As Blackwolf says above, protecting the power supply to the fuse box is the next essential step in security after fitting a BBUS in the non standard position.

I am no expert on copyright but if you found the stuff on on the web the gate has been opened and the horse has bolted it would be another matter if you were trying to sell it!

That’s why I only showed the part of the wiring diagram that was already in the TSB and nothing more. Dave

Open the bonnet and hold down the alarm switch....set the alarm ..wait a minute then release the switch if thee is an alarm from the nearside wing you have a bbus. ....its an alarm and not a horn sound....

Bbus not standard fittment om your truck but loom there ...owner might have requested it though...

Dear all,

Have been following this thread with interest and decided to take the plunge....

All installed according to the TSB, but....

For some reason the indicators don't flash anymore when using the keyfob to arm or disarm.
Everything else seems to work fine: CDL, alarm sounder, bbus, I even hear the AS10 click once when disabling the alarm and click three times when enabling.

What have I done wrong or what can I do to enable the indicator flashes again, before I start reverting everything back to original?

Thanks!

Sven

Check the hazard flashers work from the dash switch - if not then check fuse 31 in the main fuse box.

Thanks for the suggestion! Checked, but hazards are working fine (and so is fuse 31). I'll double check the new connection between the hazard-switch and the AS10, because that's the only thing I can think of that is causing the issue (being the feed for the hazard-relay in the AS10). I'd be surprised, but you never know...

Or am I overlooking something else?

The feed you've moved is the feed used to power the lights, not the feed used to switch on the feed to the lights. If you have a poor connection in your new link it will cause the symptom you describe.

Well Blackwolf, that seems to be the resolution! Thanks!

I somehow managed to make a connection that was good enough to measure 12,5 volts, but bad enough to not let through the current needed for flashing the indicators....

Sometimes....

I wish I drove a Saab

Very Happy
