Very useful article in the latest Unsealed4x4.com (the FREE on-line magazine from down under)...
Not only does it compare some of the latest and high profile driving lights (in Aus!)... But it starts with breaking down some of the misconceptions and gobbledy gook surrounding the technology... A very good read for untangling the terminologies you hear every day about LEDs and Lighting in general... The Essential Guide to: LED Driving Lights Click image to enlarge Rog... The GREEN One... Not enough emphasis on IP rating across the range with regards to advertising. For me and my experiences IP rating in the overall scheme if things is #1 on my list, and will be when funds allow and I eventually replace my current inferior LED lights. Agreed Mal, but at least it explains what IP, Lumens and other stuff is all about as a pretty good guide for the uninitiated...
If you then want to expand your knowledge and explore in more detail with your appetite whetted and your brain cells tweaked... Well then Google is your friend... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

On the subject of LED/DRLs does anyone know what the surface/bumper mounted oval LEDs that are used on the Bowler race-ready 90s are? As seen in this fantastic pic of an airborne variant....

Hi Grenadier
The lights on the Bowler 90s are Lazer LED driving lamps http://www.lazerlamps.com Click image to enlarge 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon 1971 Bowler Tomcat 88 4.2 V8 Auto 2022 110 D250 XS Edition - Gone 2024 110 D250 X-Dynamic HSE |

We have the Lazer Lamps on the black 110. Those on the Bowler are ST4's.
We have two ST4's mounted on the winch bumper and angled out slightly so that the verges are well lit. The ST4's are E marked and road legal if wired through main beam switch. Available here Brendan |
