Britpart Spring Question

Hi guys

Please can anyone tell me anything about both the DA4202 front springs and DA4203 rear springs if fitted to a 90.

1, do they work well with rear dislocation cones.

2, do they give a good ride for every day use.

3, do they cope well carrying / towing light loads.

90 is used mainly for every day use and sometimes loaded up with 6 peeps inc driver for fishing trips and every now and then towing a trailer doing tip runs and its fitted with 265 special tracks aswell, what do you think

Personally I would avoid Britpart springs ..... My experience is the spring rates are inconsistent and usually Rock hard.

There is an array of standard springs available - and with some research you can get the ride and ride height you want with them. They are good quality and not as expensive as you might expect.

I was playing with this and ended up with progressive rear springs from the guys at extreme4x4. Very helpful and would recommend.

As I understand it, they have two rates of compression. The standard 90 ones are rated at 225lbs, but my new ones are 150/220lbs, meaning a generally softer ride (150) until the rear is either loaded up or hits a really big bump/pot-hole. You can get various different rates depending on your requirements (there's always a trade off between load carrying ability and ride quality).

I tried two different pairs before finding what I was after (my 90 very rarely carries load, I wanted to improve road manners and had already upgraded to bilsteins all round)

I'm sure there are far more competent explanations elsewhere on the forum, but this seems to be working for me... Defender Puma 2.2 XS 90
