High level brake light.
In my box of bits I have one clear side repeater (ex Rover 75). I am thinking that with a red instead of amber bulb it would make a tidy high level Brake light to mount in the Ifor canopy tailgate. Red 5w filament or led 501 bulbs are easy enough to get.

Can anyone with a greater knowledge of vehicle lighting regs see a reason not to?

bit dim for a brake light , normally brake 21w or equivalent output in led

plenty of flush mount led brake light to choose from available

and if you use led then no real need for relay etc

True, output of the LED ones a bit of an unknown, and had thought 5w would be a bit dim. Was just a thought to put to use something laying around really. Will maybe keep a eye out for something more suitable in the scarp yard!

If you get a proper led e marked then should be the proper 21w equivalent output

Ah-ha 955 wedge bulbs are w16w for high level brake lights.

Might be a go-er after all. Not until we get light evenings tho'.
