[Swap] RR P38 New top gas struts for old pair
I havent gone completely insane so bear with me Laughing

Any p38 owners on here need to buy a new pair of gas struts for the top tailgate? Ive been finishing off a double cab back and have set it to the length to suite these struts. Problem Is ive bought a new pair which ive put on but are still new and far to strong really. So im after a used pair, ideally off a p38 that needs them replacing as the weight will be less so would be ideal me then.

If there is anyone Ill post you my new pair for free if you can then replace them your old pair sent back to me and not break them taking them off.

Id go to a breakers but none round here have any tired p38's despite it being Essex Thumbs Up Defender puma dormobile camper

Did you try RGB Landrovers over near Brentwood? They generally have a lot of Range Rovers there.

If you go on the RS components site you can buy struts that the pressure can be adjusted.

Go to Struts Direct which can supply struts of almost any length and end fitting, and with adjustable strength - you simply bleed out some of the gas until you achieve your desired force.

I converted (in a completely revesible and no-drilling-involved way) a Series One hardtop rear flap using struts from Struts Direct, and it was relatively cheap and very easy.
