2007 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Cairns Blue
2015 model
I have been thinking about ordering a 2015 90. My current one is only 15 months old but....... it will be much older when the replacement Defender 2 arrives...

Anyhow - popped in to Dealer the other day ....

"Contrary to popular chat", he says, Defender production has been UPPED for this last year and the supply, & with good discount, is no problem just at present.

They also report that 2013/2014 models are extremely hard to get hold of for their own stock [even] - which means that prices are firm to VERY firm to almost ridiculous [ie same as when I bought it] .... hmmmm

[These two statements do not really seem to tally though]

Funnily enough - dealers do seem very interested in taking in recent model Defenders and where is this 'shortage' of new Defenders due to all slots/allocations being 'sold out'. I also seem to remember comments about no discounts?

On Sunday I noted another transporter fully laden with new Defenders heading up North .... apparently the production line is in full swing.

As the farmer would say "Make hay whilst the sun shines"!

My own dealer for the first time has written asking for my 2.4 and to purchase a 2.2 . On the phone they stated they can't get enough of the 2.4,s . obviously they is a demand in SE England for some reason as they always seem to have a good stock of new ones!

why change a 15 months old defender?

It is like new, for me and I repeat for me (IMHO) it doesn't has sense.

With the money differences I may buy a lot of Defender's goodies Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

If they are going to do such a good deal on his 15 month old one as a PX

I sold my 11 plate 2.4 110 for the asking,, A localish main dealer did offer a good price as a outright purchase Smile

In nearly 8 year and 5 new Defenders, i am down about £4k in total (just off to work it out to the penny !!) California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Only Station Wagons in Germany. The end comes nearer. Confused

After the closing ceremony, what could they do with their Defenders?
Offer one for me?

They have to make hay by now.

Anyhow, I ordered new 90 XS today with good discount. With reference to another post somewhere here:- - dealer confirmed that the factory has indicated that discounts will cease at the end of March .... [but then they might just be saying that I guess]

I guess that also depends on the mileage you put on it every year.
One of the reasons my cars usually don't get replaced too often. If it's worth next to nothing I might as well keep it till it really falls apart...
