I have a October 2004 price list and it makes reference to the Freestyle 90 choice alloys which were standard on the XS models and an option on the PU, HT & SW 90's.
These came with 265 x 16 tyres. Confusingly, the separate brochure "Defender Specification" for the same year makes no reference to this size! |

Because anything that isn't / wasnt standard is classed as a modification. In addition I phoned them and asked them Dave |

Yes, technically true. That discussions been had before. I can give you the number of the insurance company if you want to discuss it with them.
Just trying to find out if 265s were an option in 2008 Cheers Dave |

I would hazard a guess that BF Goodrich on 265 were omitted for 2001/2 MY for the GG sausages - yet another step backwards.

No they weren't an option. They were discontinued around 2001 and replaced with gg tr 235. This has been the same until they changed to continental and Goodyear around 2012. There were other options on the steel wheels but not 265.
I always tel the insurance I've changed the tyres and dosent seem to be a problem |

As the previous poster says, they were never an option although the 265/75x16 BFG All Terrain was standard equipment on the 50th Anniversary V8 giving it the extra width to handle the more powerful engine.
I certainly got a polite for using them from a Land Rover engineer when I was fighting a Warranty issue! |
