Split Charge Upgrade
Finally managed to start my split charge upgrade today. Using the batt tray from Mobile Centre and twin PC1500's.
Run into a couple of issues today with regards to fitting it all.
The top clamp that holds the batts down. How do people get it to work? I can't see for the life of me that I can fit the batts and then fit this clamp over the top. Theres no room at the rear of the batt box to get the long bolt in. So what are people doing to overcome this?
Secondly, Are people using their existing Neg cable? Are you rerouting it via another grommet in the side of the batt box to get it to reach the battery?
Secondly for some reason I have it in my mind that the front battery is the main and the rear is the aux. Is this what people ar doing or does it make no difference because new batt cables are being fabricated. 110 D250 SE HT

I put the rear bolt in first - slotted the top bar so that it would slide under the nut.

Used existing negative cable but cut off the end and re-terminated, connected to aux at rear, then second cable to connect to main batt.

My main is at the front, aux at the rear - seems logical but doesn't matter! My Disco 'best bits'

You have choices .. The negative lead can either be: extended and routed to the aux/rear battery, it could be terminated on a common rail or refabricated to fit.

It does not matter front or rear for main/aux, when I did mine, I retained the oem positive terminal and mega fuse

I'm not sure if the 2.2 layout is different to the 2.4

If we're doing it again, I would put the aux fuse box in the other seat box together with the other fuses

I slotted the clamp bar for the rear bolt

Rerouted and retained the original Neg lead and exit point from box , as well as used the org positive with the factory megafuse

Battery it the same position as other here Main to front of seat box, Aux at the rear,, Power to fuse box under driver's (RH) seat with the others California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Wel another long day at it. Both batts fitted and the relay works perfectly. Aux fuse board fitted in the other side. Just need to run the cables to it and start the fun job of retiring all the toys I have already fitted to the temp fuse board.
Another long day to go and then it'll be done. Thumbs Up 110 D250 SE HT
