I've been thinking of getting an IIDTool BT since they seem to be quite highly thought of, but have a few questions. I wonder if anyone who has one on here can provide some info?
All questions relate to a 2007 2.4 Puma. Firstly, can anyone confirm that it is presently possible to carry out an HP fuel pump (VCV) recalibration and the Injector Pilot Learn operations with this tool? Secondly, it is my understanding that there is a single version of the IID BT tool, and that certain functions become VIN-locked to the vehicle it is first used on. Why in that case do places like Island 4x4 (see http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/diagnostics-wo..._3260.html ) list sixteen different part numbers for what appears to be basically the same tool, at prices rangine from £225 to £320 plus vat etc? I'm well baffled by this, expecially as the GAP Diagnostics webite only lists one. Which is the appropriate tool/version for a Defender? Thirdly, it seems to be incredibly difficult to find somewhere actually to buy one of these, at least with any degree of confidence. Where are people actually buying these from? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! It looks to be a good tool, but the purchasing process seems to be so difficult that I can only assume it is some form of test! Thanks. I bought one from Island4x4 for my Disco4, works like a bomb.
I'm not sure why their website doesn't list one for the Defender, but they are all the same. I highly recommend you get the one with BlueTooth, -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Yes but you need to update it first. The significant thing it doesn't do is the 10AS. |

Not sure whereabouts in Dorset you are, but if you're ever nearby and want to "try before you buy", you'd be welcome to have a go with mine. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Hi Guys
For the Defender, only an IIDTool BT will do. 10AS wise, we have 2 ECUs on the bench and will work on them in the next few months. Cheers http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/ |
