Having had both a truck cab and NAS style (although PP rather than SD) I would say each has their downside.

The truck cab is just so cramped, I'm only 5'9.5" tall and I find that I want to sit further back.

The soft top though is noisy at speed (especially if you have the diagonals going back to the cappings with the tilt sides smacking against them) and security is a big issue.

If it were me and a daily driver it would be a CSW

Bow down to your work - I wish I were half as skilled

Pickles....that's what's driving me, waiting to hear the missus drive off up the street in it!

"The Mrs"?!!..Lol....We've had lots of V8s, the last being a C63, and yes, the sound of her "taking off" up the street, was always "rewarding"!

nice job! my soft top v8 build has been pretty slow of late too. Just the weather is too orrible to get the get up and go!

Question for you. did you route all your cabling, breather, fuel lines, brake lines all down the drivers side chassis rail? Its all looking a bit cramped for my liking and im considering sticking some of it down the pass side rail instead. Just wondering if you can do either?

are you going to squirt it?

Hi Mike, I'm not going to squirt it, though did consider it, for the money I decided it would be false economy, it's going to get run as it is for a year as there will be an LS engine in its near future!

I do have everything down the off side, though I routed the brake line on the side of the chassis, until right under the bulkhead.
It is busy, you could run the rear brake line along the near side, though the bracket for the flexi hose from the rear axle is on the off side.
I'm going for 'creative' use of p-clips Thumbs Up

I've been busy assisting my mate in the restoration of a 89 110 v8 csw. I'll get some picks up but basically a front half restoration! Chassis repair inc both out riggers, dumb irons. Bulkhead was shot so new one sourced, repaired galvanised and painted. New s/s manifold stud kit, new brakes,suspension.... The list goes on. Should be done for chrimbo.

I wish my bulkhead looked that good, although mine is rust free, it has been hand painted in its time!

Just read through your post....

Awesome, almost makes me want to search the net for an old v8.

It also make me want to sort what I call our 'bad' garage out, as it has a small pit and would be ideal for a 'project' even if my skills would involve a selection of hammers to sort the jobs Smile

I'm well impressed when people do these rebuilds in a normal garage etc, hats off to you and look forward to the final pictures and a sound clip !!!
