Rotary oil filter - Td5
I changed the rotary oil filter on my Td5 last night, but ever since i've not been able to hear it spinning down after turning the engine off, like I used to with the old one in. Is this normal? Maybe they only make a bit of noise after a few miles? It was quite easy to hear it before, after switching the engine off, a fairly obvious humming noise for a few seconds as it continued spinning. And before you ask, yes I definitely fitted it the right way up Wink

Well I thought the spinning down thing after the engine was turned off was the Turbo Shocked

On the TD5 its the oil filter and i also prefer to here it then at least you know its working.
was ita genuine filter you fitted ?

The new 07 2.4 does have some air filter noise when it is switched off along with the other funny noise they make lol.
