BTDT. problem is that once you realize it's on the wrong nut, you can't get it off without breaking it.

So I had to change my wheel today... (nail... slow puncture)

In doing so, I managed to break all the teeth off the plastic "cap remover" tool while trying to remove all the caps off all the nuts holding the spare wheel on... including the ones that I have since learnt are actually permanently crimped on... Turns out that it's only the locking wheel nut cap that comes off... who knew?!?

In light of the fact that there is not a single note in the manual highlighting the fact that the non locking wheel nut caps are permanently crimped on, is this something that all defender owners have to learn the hard way at some point as some sort of "right of passage"?!?

...or do I now just feel a lot more stupid than I ever thought possible?!? Banging Head

Im sorry that ive only just seen this thread. Ive had a bad day, but this has made it all better.. Rolling with laughter
