we've just been away for a few days, did around 2000ks, an absolute joy to drive, sits on 100/110ks all day easily, but whilst it was only around 30C, I would not have wanted to be without A/C, so for the sake of Aussie Heritage buyers, I hope they have A/C.

See, I always said it was a bad idea to get rid of the original air conditioning system (the front flaps) when they re-modelled the bulk head and dash for the puma! We managed our trip fine without air con, average temps for the first 2 months between 27 and 40 degrees, but with the front flaps open, a bit of a gap in the back windows and maybe a slight bit of window down in the front windows, we did fine.

We had intended to have air con and had bought a second hand unit and pretty much fully fitted it, up to the point of one more pipe was needed and then gassing and testing. Then I found out that when the Defender arrived in Oz in the container it had to have been certified de-gassed in the UK and then we've had to re-gas it in Oz. Just too much expense and trouble with paperwork, etc. So took the whole thing out. Also this gave much more leg room for us both. So didn't miss it at all!

Now we have a dog and intend to travel in Europe (in bits where it gets a lot warmer than the UK) we will probably put the aircon back in for her sake, although for us, I'm just not that bothered. Very Happy

Your little green truck does look great though and I'm kicking myself that we didn't arrange to meet up when we were in Melbourne last March!

Nice 90, I'd hate to meet the dog that left that paw print by the front wheel though....
