Ok. Update on the bloody leak.
Basically. Yesterday I noticed the head lining above the passenger side just above the window was wet and sagging a bit.
And what was happening was water was coming through the alpine window and finding its way down the inner guttering and into the head lining above the passenger window, pooling up over time then finding its way down the A post and coming out just behind the dash and onto the passenger footwell.
The guys at Lloyds Autobodies in Manchester have dried the headlining out and sealed and replace the seal on the alpine window.
Hope this helps people with a similar problem. Also ordered some Captain trolley creeping crack cure just as a belt and braces. Damn planet is short of Kryptonite !

Wet headlining could be cracked roof gutters....

http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic5842.h...headlining

As you have airconditioning it may be worth getting underneath and checking the drain teat if it is clogged and modifying it by cutting it if it is......

The guys water tested it and the alpine seal wasnt seated right. And I looked at the roof gutters and there's no cracks in there. Thumbs Up Damn planet is short of Kryptonite !

Chaps do you think there is a possibility of water getting at the back of the hinge and dripping behind and finding its way along the rivets to the inside of the bulkhead?

My 12MY is also leaking into the passenger footwell. I can see a drip of water on the inside plate where the bolts go through to the bracket which now replaces the windscreen hinge.

Fortunately still under warranty so when the bad weather backs off, it will be a trip to the stealer.

The previous owner kept the Landie in a garage so I suspect he never realised there was a problem.
