A-Plan result
So I've been sorting the insurance for the 130 and cognisant of some comments ref extras I had conversations with a few insurance brokers who advertise for Land Rovers.

Thought I'd give you a quick over view. Defender 110 & Skoda Octavia VRS both insured with LV. Keen price on the Defender but it's not modified, stored in the garage overnight. And I like LV - never had issues and they paid out years ago when I had a claim.

As expected most either wouldn't or couldn't quote on a modified 130 DCPU. LV had a go, but as mentioned by someone else in another thread (that I can't find, hence doing this new one) they weren't confident regarding the value of the extras. So I tried A-Plan via the forum. I've used A-plan previously but for high performance Jap turbo nutter cars.

Spoke to Zoe, who knew a lot about Land Rovers. Enough to know that the 130DCPU existed, how many doors and seats etc. But more than that, she listened. She asked, and she volunteered options and suggestions. She took on board the extras, the value etc etc. The quote she came back with was a £100 more than LV BUT it had half the excess, half the windscreen excess and more importantly all the extras recorded down.

So well done A-Plan. In a competitive business arena, customer service and product knowledge can win over price Thumbs Up

Maybe worth going back to LV perhaps and giving them another chance especially based on good previous experience and a claim? A look at any underwriters reviews can save you a lot of heartache, time and money before committing.
