G4 Roof Rack
Question please: i want to install a roof rack on my G4 (if possible the same one as on the example pictures here below), i have asked several suppliers in NL & UK but they all say it is not possible to fix this type of rack because of the roll cage but as you can see on the pics below it should be possible, maybe with some adjustments ? Can anyone help out
please and /or suggest which roof rack can be fitted with a roll cage?

That looks like a Safety Devices rack, so contact them direct to see what they suggest. SD supplied the original racks for the 2003 event and Breed made the ones for 2006. Obviously there were no genuine D90s on the event or ones with the roll over hoop; these are Limited Editions . Current

Thanks Stu, i will contact them; i had already found the Rack on the website of Safety Devices and they say:

Full luggage rail 'G4 Expedition' roof rack for mounting to rain gutter (this roof rack cannot be fitted to a vehicle where an external roll cage has been fitted).

but i'll ask anyway - mabye they have a suggestion !

Have you enquired about Genuine Part Number BA3190.

This is the LR part number for the original G4 (aka Challenge) roof rack but not sure about the roll cage clearance. I know Bearmach make (or used to make) a version of this rack.

Looking at the photo, I'm guessing that it will fit (and so will the others mentioned), however, you will have to remove the roll cage to fit it and then reinstall the cage over the top. Craig Rogers

The original 2003 G4 rack is from safety devices not LR. The 2006 challenge Defenders had a similar rack but from another company.

Zooming in on the picture it shows the safety devices G4 rack just clears where the external cage meets the roof. Due to your location I doubt the trial and error approach will work.

Definatly speak to Safety Devices as they've been really helpful as I return mine to full G4 spec. Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!
