Not sure if David Bowyer services winches but worth a call maybe. If he doesn't do the work himself I'm sure he'd know of someone who is capable 110 D250 SE HT

Thanks; tried him but was only really interested in selling me a new one! I've now found a few sites that offer comprehensive advice on how to strip and rebuild. Might try that over winter but as my clutch won't disengage and the solenoids aren't powering the winch I'm going to struggle to remove the winch from its mount! Current

The XD9000i is a very simple winch to overhaul (which is actually a good thing since they need overhauling quite regularly) and doesn't take long to strip, clean, grease and reassemble.

Devon 4x4 maybe? Distance might be the issue along with perhaps price.
Depends if it would be worthwhile I guess. |

Dave Lovejoy, goes by the name of Honiton Hobbit on most forums. He has been servicing winches for a few years 110 D250 SE HT

Gigglepin 4x4 tend to specialise in winches, but they're a Kent based company so may be a bit out the way. Pete

After a lot of research Bow1,2 fit this winch and so does the XP. But it took me ages to find people who had fitted them. The brush packs for the standard motor are stupid. Best place I found was £100. For that money, you may as well spend a bit more and fir a Bow 2 or XP 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

The xd9000i is pretty easy to refurb. I followed one of the online links (after my free spool clutch stopped working) and I took the whole thing apart, greased everything that needed greasing, painted all the alloy parts and bolted it back together.
I later added a remote (in cab) switch so I can use the winch while in the cab. All pretty easy to do, following the online links. Cheers Simon |

I used a rattle can of wheel paint, of the same Argent Silver that Warn use. It's been fine for the last three years of abuse..
