Posted on 16th January 2015 Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after two Land Rover vehicles were stolen from Hadfield and Glossop over the last two weeks. A blue coloured Land Rover Defender was stolen from outside a property on Brosscroft in Hadfield. The incident is believed to have taken place overnight between 10.30pm on Thursday, Jan 8 and 8.30am on Friday, January 9. (CR/1146/15) At around 5.30pm on Monday, January 5, offenders stole a green Land Rover Defender which was parked along High Street East in Glossop. (CR/697/14) Officers investigating the crimes are asking anyone with information or who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area to contact them on 101, quoting the crime number quoted above. Following the incidents, motorists are being encouraged to boost the security of their vehicles by ensuring that any valuables are removed and the windows are up with the doors properly secured, before leaving the vehicle unattended. Other advice includes ensuring that Sat-Navs and their cradles are removed, along with wiping away any ‘sucker’ marks. Park in well-lit, overlooked areas where possible and consider using a steering lock, alarm or tracking device for added security. To report a crime anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. |
