Matt Lee Mach 5 steel wheel, Special Nuts ??
Hello Knowledgeable peeps,

Can anyone tell me whether t would need a specific, / different wheelnut than I had with my Boosts, to fit steel Mach 5's?
Also, were these wheels originally powder coated or wet painted?

Thanks very much.

You need steel wheel nuts. The boost alloy nuts won't work.

I used to buy sets direct from Matt raw and used to paint them myself, so some may be painted some people may have powder coated them.

as above, use the standard defender steel wheel nuts.
I had my set shotblast and powder coated recently and they came up like new.

Thanks for the the replies chaps Thumbs Up
Does anyone do stainless or stainless jacketed ones, as per discovery wheelnuts, I just can't see painted steel one lasting too well.
Relative to poweder coating the steel ones, does it not increase the external diameter to the extent you have issues getting a socket onto them?

Thanks.

Well I have just found some stainless steel nuts on the bay, they appear to be a taper seat face , are the Mach 5's flat or taper seat?
The pics I have seen of them ( poor ones granted ) appear to show them with a flat seat?

Alloy wheels have a different chamfer on the nuts than steel as explained. Wrington can supply all your needs. Mach 5 wheels were supplied either powder coated or untreated allowing the purchaser to get them finished as they wished. I have two sets and both were powder coat finish.

Edited to say , I have just looked at the CORRECT section Embarassed on the Wringtons site, and the prices aren't bad at all, and black is an option too. Cool "Procrastination is the thief of time"

They're a bit posh, I'd be happy with a set of standards!! I have some steel locking wheel nuts, but they're going on my wolf steelies when the 90 is built.
