Following this thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic26950....+bar+grill
on fitting some front lights supported on brackets through the grill, I then found these brackets, rather than make up my own. They are supposed to fit to the grill mounting bolts at the sides of the grill to give light mounting points through the grill. They were originally described as LED warning light mounting brackets. Click image to enlarge Plans have changed now, so these are surplus to requirements. Looking for 35.00 posted. Last edited by Inigo on 11th May 2018 9:40pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Thought I could mount led bar on these rather than a-bar but really need to see how they fit.

They came with no instructions and I had to hold them against the front of the car with the grill removed for a while before I worked it out, but didn't take photos!
The cross at the top of the T (in the orientation shown in the photos) has two mounting holes, these match up with the bolt holes (currently with plastic inserts) for screwing the grill back on. These would need to be replaced with nuts and bolts, or perhaps it might be strong enough just fitted between the grill and the steel panel behind it with the existing screws? This then leaves the long vertical part of the T (in my picture) poking sideways across the grill. The two large holes and two small holes on this part, I assume fit to a fairly standard LED strobe light. I was going to drill in the appropriate place and add bolts to poke through the grill to fit an LED light bar. I was going to try and do something like LeeNorthant's picture here: https://s3-eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/i.hubnu...7ad038.jpg Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

The way I say them was through the gap between the Grill and the wing sticking straight out. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

I think I'm right in saying that those are made by Border Motorsport - give Robbie a shout if you've any queries, he's a really helpful bloke.
