I know it can be controlled by the relay that lets you set the exact delay, but that would need constant re setting as conditions changed
A simple switch would be easier. opsss Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition IID Pro MV License |

I dont know about the switch -but I do know that nothing could be easier than setting the timing interval on the 99 wiper relay.
It might sounds awkward - but I practice it's very intuitive, the stalk is at hand without having to reach across the dash as you would on your solution. It works like this - rain starts to build, flick the switch on and off - wait until it's built up again and flick the switch back on again. Then that's it the interval is set to the rate the rain builds up. Even with 4 setting it'd either be too fast or too slow. For the ease of fitting one Id try it before you get into a more complex solution .... |

Thanks Anderzander - quick question
Once the 99 relay is set and it starts raining heavier - how do you decrease the time delay ? The 99 relay would be easier, but as you say it does sound awkward |

The 99 relay works as thus....
when it rains fluck the int switch down to clear the screen but don't leave it down. When enough water has acumalted on the screen to need it clearing again flick it down and leave it down. It will then wipe the screen at the same intervals. Not awkward at all very easy and a brilliant mod for £10 If you want to change the time repeat the above |

It times the off period from having been off - so when the rain changes you'd just knock it off - wait until it's built up on the screen again - and then knock it on, it will be set to the new interval.
Easy Peasy Give it a go. |
