RUD chains, ex-military NOS
If anyone needs them, there's a surplus dealer on ebay with 100+ pairs of ex-military new-old-stock Rudmatic chains selling at a very good price of £89 per pair with free p&p.

These are intended for 7.50x16 tyres but may fit similar sizes such as 235/85x16. The Rud part number is quoted in the ebay listing so sizes can be checked on the Rud website. The chains are the "Rudmatic" type so are easier to fit that the classic style. They are identical to the chains sold by dealers as genuine parts, which I believe are now something like £550 per pair.

I have no connection with the seller except as a satisfied customer - I have bought several eccentric and heavy items from them in the past and they have always been very quick, efficient, and forthright.

Wales 1990 Defender 90 300 Tdi SW Firenze Red
I have these chains and they do not fit on my 235 tyres. I have tried on 2 different types of 235 and they don't come close to fitting. I purchased a set of 750 takeoffs to work with the chains as buying the 5 wheels/tyres was cheaper than buying 4 new HD chains.

Caveat emptor. They fit 7.50 Michelins perfectly.
